Moffitt Cancer Center is recruiting healthy volunteers to participate in a study to determine quality-of-life changes in blood and marrow transplant patients. A blood and marrow transplant (BMT) involves replacing a patient's faulty stem cells with healthy ones. Scientists at University of Copenhagen and University of Edinburgh have identified a core set of functionally relevant factors which regulates embryonic stem cells' ability for self-renewal. A federal judge has found in favor of RyMed Technologies and against ICU Medical (Nasdaq: ICUI) in a closely watched patent-infringement case concerning intravenous (IV) catheter safety technology.
